Caring for Leather Bar Stools

Leather bar stools are an increasingly popular option in pubs, cafes, restaurants and homes alike. Leather-covered padding helps to make bar stools much more comfortable, enabling people to sit on them for longer periods of time, which could ultimately be good for business. It is important, though, to make sure you take proper care of your leather bar stools so that they stay in good condition and don’t become unnecessarily damaged.

For instance, it is often a good idea to use a dedicated leather cleaner. Other cleaners might be too harsh or abrasive on the soft leather, and so to make sure it stays supple and strong, a proper cleaner that is formulated especially for leather is a good choice. However, don’t be tempted to use shoe polish or else people will end up getting mucky when they sit down!

A proper leather conditioner can also be useful when caring for leather bar stools. This will stop the leather from cracking as it will help to keep it moist. You should also keep an eye out for any blemishes or tears in the leather, as these will need to be dealt with as soon as you notice them to make sure the damage to your bar stools is kept to a minimum.

Most of the time, you will probably be able to give your leather bar stools a wipe with a damp cloth and they’ll be absolutely fine. If you are properly cleaning or disinfecting them, though, make sure you use products that won’t cause any problems or else you might accidentally end up doing more harm than good.
