BAR STOOLS AND BISTRO TABLES
As the end of the recession is nowhere in sight, it may be difficult to think about moving house, along with all the expense it brings. An alternative is to redesign your home, perhaps one room at a time, and perhaps on a budget. We all know that when visitors arrive at your home, they will gravitate towards the sitting room or the kitchen for that all important catch-up and perhaps a coffee or a glass of wine. What better place than to start redesigning the hub of your home .... your kitchen.
Today, we are spoilt for choice with colourful furniture, cool stainless steel appliances and space-saving gadgets for the small kitchen. Once you have decided upon a themed colour for your kitchen, you can then think about looking for seating arrangements for your entertaining. Many kitchens today are very small, but most will have worktops. This is where the bar stool comes into its own. Because of its versatility, when not in use, the bar stool can be popped under the worktop, leaving the floor area clear. With so many designs and an extremely wide range of colours, there will be many bar stools to tempt the buyer, from pink to purple to yellow and green and all colours in between. A popular type of bar stool for the kitchen is the ‘wipe clean’ ABS plastic Pod bar stool, funky and comfortable and comes in a wide range of colours. This bar stool is height-adjustable to ensure the maximum comfort for the sitter and comes with a footrest. Perhaps you are a fun-loving person and likes quirky designs – there are also Bottletop bar stools available, which will always be a talking point for any visitor to your home. This fun design bar stool is available in a range of colours – black, white, red, blue and pink; a must for those who like something different.
For the smaller breakfast bar, there is always the Canastota bar stool, a height-adjustable stool with sleek chrome-effect metal and a faux leather finish. This is an extremely comfortable bar stool that will sit well under any breakfast bar. It comes with a gas lift mechanism for height adjustment and a swivel seat. Or perhaps your taste is for the retro look, with a Detroit bar stool. These are American diner-style stools with funky coloured seats with adjustable height to complete your American diner-style kitchen.
Another idea, if space allows, is to have a trendy bistro table to complement your bar stools. Again, there are bistro tables made of tough ABS plastic which are easily cleaned and look fresh and contemporary. Apart from the ABS bistro tables, you may wish to choose one that has a faux leather top finish, for that little bit of indulgence. When matched with faux leather bar stools, this type of seating area looks sleek and elegant, especially in modern apartments which appeal to the young trendsetter. The bistro table is big enough to have a meal and a drink but small enough not to encroach.
Whatever your taste in bar stools and bistro tables may be, there’s so many to choose from that you will be spoilt for choice.
